Neo Geo AES+ release delayed to September 2027
Plaion Replai and SNK have announced that the global release of the Neo Geo AES+ has been rescheduled to September 16, 2027. Originally slated for November 2026, the delay is attributed to unprecedented demand that exceeded company forecasts and global supply chain constraints regarding memory chips, driven in part by the growing needs of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
To avoid a limited launch with low availability, the companies are using the additional time to increase production capacities and secure necessary components for a simultaneous worldwide release. Existing pre-orders will remain valid, maintain their priority status, and will not face price increases. As a gesture of appreciation, consoles from the initial production run will include a ‘Founding Supporter’ bonus.
The Neo Geo AES+ is a modernized version of the classic hardware, featuring an HDMI port and a curated selection of classic titles such as Metal Slug and The King of Fighters. Different editions are available, including Standard, Anniversary, and a limited Ultimate Edition.
