Neon Genesis Evangelion Added to Criterion Channel for September Release
The landmark anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion will debut on the Criterion Channel on September 1. Both the original 26‑episode Japanese version and the classic English dub will be offered, marking the first time the English dub is available on a streaming platform. The release also includes the feature films The End of Evangelion (1997) and Evangelion: Death (True)² (1998), all three titles distributed by GKIDS.
Criterion’s catalog will feature additional anime titles such as Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, The Garden of Words and K‑On! alongside the Evangelion series.
