Neos Marmaras predator sighting follows recent attacks

A wild animal, suspected to be either a golden jackal or a wolf, was recently spotted on a beach in Neos Marmaras, Halkidiki. The sighting occurred around 2:00 AM near a football field on the eastern side of the settlement. While the animal did not act aggressively toward the woman who filmed it, the encounter follows two previous attacks in the area, including one incident where a child sustained facial injuries.

Local authorities have issued warnings to residents and tourists to exercise caution, particularly during the night and early morning hours in isolated areas of the beach. Recommendations include maintaining constant supervision of children, avoiding unlit or wooded areas, and ensuring all food waste is placed securely inside containers to avoid attracting wildlife.
