Nepal cricket prepares for NPL third edition and crucial ODI status series

Nepal is entering the final stages of preparation for the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka stated that infrastructure and management upgrades at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur are nearing completion. Efforts are focused on increasing seating capacity, improving access roads, and addressing previous issues regarding spectator movement and facilities.

Separately, the Nepal national cricket team faces a critical series in Oman to preserve its One Day International (ODI) status. Following a strong performance in the ACC Premier Cup, the team must navigate the final ICC World Cup League 2 series. Captain Sandeep Lamichhane noted that the primary objective is to secure ODI status and maintain a path toward the World Cup Qualifier, as finishing outside the top six could result in the loss of their ODI standing.
