Nepal defeats Oman to secure ODI status

Nepal secured a 10-run victory over Oman in their final ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 match at the Al Amerat Ground. The win allows Nepal to secure sixth place in the standings, helping them protect their automatic ODI status and avoid the World Cup Qualifier Playoff.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Nepal posted 280 runs in their 50 overs. The innings was bolstered by half-centuries from Rohit Paudel (80), Dipendra Singh Airee (69), and Dev Khanal (57). A 139-run partnership between Paudel and Airee helped rebuild the innings after Nepal had fallen to 99 for three.

In response, Oman reached 270 for six. Jatinder Singh (89) and Hammad Mirza (87) shared a 158-run partnership for the second wicket. Despite a late effort from Hasnain Shah, who remained unbeaten with 40 runs, Oman fell short of the target. Dipendra Singh Airee sealed the win by bowling a dot ball on the final delivery of the match.
