Nepal Finance Minister urges diaspora to invest in national economy

Nepal's Finance Minister, Dr. Swarnim Wagle, has called upon the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) to invest in the country with confidence. In a video message addressed to the 11th Asia-Pacific Conference of the NRNA held in Guangzhou, China, Wagle highlighted the government's efforts to establish a conducive investment climate.

The minister identified several priority sectors for diaspora investment, including tourism, information technology, green energy, high-value agriculture, and import substitution. He noted that the government is implementing policies to encourage growth in artificial intelligence and IT sectors while working to generate employment opportunities.

Wagle stated that the government is introducing 27 new laws through the budget to foster an investment-friendly environment and has initiated tax reforms to increase public revenue. He outlined a multi-year timeline for these reforms, suggesting that broader results will become visible in the third and fourth years of the administration, with citizens reaping the rewards by the fifth year.
