Nepal floods: 94-year-old woman rescued alive from landslide debris

Amidst devastating floods in Nepal that have claimed hundreds of lives and left many missing, a 94-year-old woman, Gunakesari Bohara, has been miraculously rescued alive from the debris.

Bohara was residing in a state-run elderly care facility in the mountainous Rasuwa region when a massive wave of water, mud, and debris destroyed the building. She was found buried under tons of rubble and debris. A specialized team from the Nepalese army managed to locate signs of life and utilized heavy machinery, including excavators, to carefully remove the debris and rescue her. She is reported to be the sole survivor from her specific care facility.
