Nepal Hosts International MICE and Wedding Convention to Boost Tourism

More than 550 event and wedding industry professionals from seven countries gathered in Kathmandu for the 13th EMF ACE Global Convention & Awards 2026, held at The Soaltee Kathmandu from July 31 to August 1. The three‑day event, organized by India‑based EMF Global, was inaugurated by Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadga Raj Poudel. EMF Global Founder President Dr. Jaydeep Mehta highlighted Nepal’s potential as a leading MICE and destination‑wedding hub, citing its Himalayan scenery, cultural diversity and proximity to India. Delegates will visit Pokhara, Janakpur and Chitwan to explore tourism offerings. Bollywood actors Shilpa Shetty, Shakti Kapoor and Vikrant Massey, along with Nepali actress Manisha Koirala, are attending, while officials note the convention could generate business for hotels, travel agencies and event firms.
