A massive rescue operation is underway in Nepal's Rasuwa district following a devastating flash flood triggered by a glacier collapse on the Tibet-Nepal border. The disaster, which struck the Bhote Koshi River on August 26, has resulted in at least 633 confirmed deaths and left many others missing.

Rescue efforts are heavily focused on the Upper Trishuli A Hydropower Project, where workers became trapped in a tunnel filled with mud and debris. The Nepal Army has successfully rescued 350 people from the site, including two survivors brought out alive on Friday. However, authorities report that more than 100 people remain trapped inside the tunnel.

Operations are being hampered by extremely difficult terrain, unfavorable weather, and the presence of thick mud, which has made locating tunnel entry and exit points difficult. In response to Nepal's request for assistance, India has deployed a specialized tunnel rescue team to the region to aid in the search and recovery efforts.
