Nepal rescuers save two from tunnel as Russian drone hits Ukraine security HQ

In Nepal, rescue teams have successfully pulled two survivors from a tunnel at the Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Station. The rescue comes nine days after a glacier collapse on the Trishuli River caused massive floods, killing more than 1,300 people and leaving over 5,600 missing. Officials believe the disaster trapped at least 900 people in tunnels related to several hydropower projects.

The two survivors, Kabir Maharjan and Sanjay Sah, were transported to an army hospital in Kathmandu. Sah, a mechanical foreman, reported staying in a control room to assist others during the collapse. Meanwhile, the Nepal army reported recovering two bodies from a tunnel at the Langtang Hydropower Station.

In Ukraine, a Russian drone strike targeted the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in central Kyiv, wounding twelve people. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated the building was deliberately targeted. Ukrainian officials described the strike as a “major escalation” occurring as diplomatic momentum builds for potential peace talks.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to travel to Moscow and Kyiv to deliver a proposal aimed at ending the war. This marks the first visit by these envoys to Kyiv.
