Nepal Stock Exchange falls 0.24 percent in a week

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 0.24 percent last week, dropping 6.26 points to close at 2,643.83. This marginal decrease occurred amid a slump in trading activity within the country’s secondary market.

Market capitalization fell from Rs 4.554 trillion to Rs 4.547 trillion, representing a Rs 7 billion loss in total investor market value. Average daily turnover also saw a 9.94 percent decline, falling to Rs 3.864 billion from Rs 4.290 billion.

Sector performance was mixed; while the hotels and tourism index rose by 0.68 percent, the trading sector experienced the largest decline, falling 4.37 percent. Among individual companies, Ghalemdi Hydro saw a 9.21 percent increase in share price, whereas Mahila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha recorded the largest drop at 21.05 percent.
