Nepal's Nepali Congress supports Ayurvedic medicine expansion

Nepali Congress General Secretary and former Health Minister Pradip Paudel has expressed support for the government's efforts to expand the production capacity of the state-run Ayurvedic producer, Singha Durbar Vaidyakhana.

Paudel commended Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s commitment to expanding the institution's product range to 150 items. The goal is to achieve national self-reliance in the production of 35 essential medicines, which are provided free of cost. Paudel noted that the current progress aligns with policies established during his tenure, specifically the 10-year National Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine Strategy aimed at reducing non-communicable diseases by 30 percent.
