Nephrology initiatives focus on kidney disease prevention and research in Italy

Various medical initiatives and conferences are focusing on the advancement of nephrology and kidney disease prevention in Italy.

In Orbetello, the Ausl Toscana sud est is organizing a public meeting titled “Reni in salute: come proteggerli ogni giorno” on October 9. The event aims to educate citizens on preventing chronic kidney disease through lifestyle changes, nutrition, hydration, and managing occupational risks such as heat exposure and dehydration.

Additionally, Cosenza is set to host the “C.O.R.E. – Cosenza On Renal Excellence” international congress on October 9 and 10, 2026. Led by scientific director Michele Provenzano of the University of Calabria, the congress will address the transformation of nephrology, focusing on technological innovation, personalized therapeutic approaches, and the management of chronic kidney disease and kidney transplants.
