Nereo Rocco International youth football tournament begins in Florence

The 47th Nereo Rocco International Tournament, a prominent European youth football event, begins in Florence. Organized by U. S. Settignanese, the competition features 16 teams from the Allievi 2010 category competing from August 22 to 26.

Participating clubs include AC Milan, Parma, Como, Partizan Belgrade, Sturm Graz, and defending champions Empoli. The teams are divided into four groups:

Group A: Empoli, Pisa, Spezia, and U. S. Affrico; Group B: Parma, Partizan Belgrade, Siena, and U. S. Settignanese; Group C: Como, Arezzo, Sestese, and Sturm Graz; Group D: AC Milan, Carrarese, Pafos FC, and Pontedera.

Matches will be held at the Stadio Ferruccio Valcareggi in Florence, the Impianto Romagnoli B, and the I Ponti synthetic field in Bagno a Ripoli. The opening ceremony will feature a live performance of the Italian national anthem by soprano Antonella Capanni.
