Nerja honors artist Ramiro Ramos for founding children's painting studio

The municipality of Nerja, in Málaga, has honored artist Ramiro Ramos for his role in establishing the Estudio de Pintura Infantil. This initiative, which began in 1969, remains a significant part of the local cultural and educational landscape.

To recognize his legacy, a commemorative tile plaque featuring a photograph of Ramos was installed on the facade of his family home at 26 Granada Street. The tribute, promoted by his nieces Catalina and Beatriz Ramos, coincides with the 25th anniversary of the artist's death.

As the founder and first director of the studio, Ramos influenced multiple generations of local children by fostering their creativity and artistic sensitivity. The Estudio de Pintura Infantil was the first of its kind in the province of Málaga and has operated without interruption since its unanimous approval by the City Council in March 1969.
