Italian towns host summer festivals and cultural events in August 2026

A series of local festivals, concerts, exhibitions and theatrical performances are scheduled across Italy from late July through mid‑August 2026. In Sicily, the historic village of Gangi will hold its 61st Sagra della Spiga, featuring traditional rites, music and a Demetra procession. In Calabria, the permanent photography exhibition “Fragmenta” opens in Morano Calabro as part of a cultural regeneration project. Northern towns such as Luino, Legnano, and the Alto Milanese area present a packed summer programme of open‑air cinema, jazz, folk concerts and food markets. Central‑Italian locations – Cortona’s first “Festa amanti del bosco”, Montesano’s “Un Borgo da Favola” fairy‑tale theatre, and the multi‑day “Festival del Capo di Leuca” in Puglia – add music, dance and visual arts to the calendar. Additional events include the Emilia Romagna Festival’s second phase, the “Sibillini in Jazz” concert in Montefalcone, and numerous sagre celebrating local cuisine in towns such as Arola, Gangi, and the Maremma region. Together these programmes showcase Italy’s regional traditions, culinary heritage and contemporary cultural life during the summer season.
