Nervosa vocalist Prika Amaral cancels tours due to health issues

Prika Amaral, the vocalist and guitarist for the Brazilian thrash metal band Nervosa, has announced the cancellation of several upcoming performances due to worsening health conditions. The musician revealed she has been struggling with increasingly severe allergic reactions since October 2024, which began during a North American tour as cold urticaria.

Amaral reported that her condition has deteriorated rapidly over the last five months, with triggers including sunlight, sand, sweat, and even air conditioning set to 21 °C. She noted that a recent episode following an outdoor concert nearly resulted in anaphylactic shock.

As a result of these life-threatening symptoms, the band has been forced to withdraw from their scheduled UK tour with Xentrix. While the UK dates are cancelled, the band stated that their North American tour remains on schedule, emphasizing that Amaral requires time to focus on medical investigations and recovery.
