Nescafé Dolce Gusto launches NEO smart coffee system

Nescafé Dolce Gusto has launched the NEO coffee system, a new generation of capsule machines featuring proprietary SmartBrew technology. The system is designed to automatically recognize the specific capsule inserted and adjust the extraction method accordingly.

Two distinct models are available: the NEO Caffè, which focuses on black coffee, and the NEO Latte, which is designed for milk-based beverages and other specialty drinks. The SmartBrew technology allows the machine to integrate three different preparation methods, enabling the creation of espresso, Americano-style coffee, and filter-style extractions.

The development of the NEO system involved five years of research, utilizing virtual simulations, new materials, and digital twins. The technology facilitates a communication exchange between the machine, the consumable capsule, and software to ensure a customized brewing process.
