NESREA seals four Nasarawa facilities over pollution breaches
The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has sealed four facilities in Nasarawa State due to alleged pollution and regulatory breaches. The enforcement action, led by the agency’s Karu Operational Office, targeted ABZAT Quarry, Hoafong Mining Trading Company Ltd, Emono Venture, and Mivanyi Integrated Farms.
NESREA stated the closures were necessary because the facilities failed to comply with prescribed environmental standards and regulatory requirements. This crackdown is part of a broader nationwide effort to ensure industrial, mining, and quarrying operators adhere to laws designed to protect public health and prevent environmental degradation. The agency has recently increased facility closures as an enforcement measure, following similar actions in Ekiti, Osun, and Ogun states.
