Nestlé completes HUF 193 billion expansion in Bük, Hungary

Nestlé has completed a HUF 193 billion expansion at its Purina pet food manufacturing facility in Bük, Hungary. The investment, which concludes a five-year cycle, includes the addition of three new production units and a fully automated warehouse with a 50,000-pallet capacity.

The expansion increases the plant’s potential annual production capacity to 500,000 tonnes, with approximately 95% of the output destined for export to nearly 50 countries. The development has grown the local workforce to 1,800 employees. Since acquiring the factory in 1998, Nestlé has invested a total of HUF 325 billion in the site.

Prime Minister Péter Magyar attended the inauguration, noting that the expansion supports regional development and the creation of a knowledge-based society through the use of robotics and AI. Minister of Economy and Energy István Kapitány also highlighted the company’s continued commitment to investing in Hungary.
