Nestlé invests 540 million reais to expand Araçatuba plant in Brazil

Nestlé announced a R$ 540 million investment to modernize and increase capacity at its Araçatuba factory in São Paulo, with work slated for completion by 2028. The funds will be used to upgrade industrial equipment, incorporate new technologies, and boost production of high‑value products such as infant formula, medical‑nutrition items and foods aimed at healthy ageing. The plant, Nestlé Brazil’s largest revenue‑generating unit, already manufactures more than 180 products for the domestic market and for export to Latin America and the Middle East.

Company executives highlighted the strategic importance of the Nutrition and Health division, which accounts for about 20% of Nestlé’s global sales. CEO Marcelo Melchior said the investment demonstrates confidence in Brazil’s ability to produce complex, high‑quality nutritional foods, while Vice‑President Marcelo Citrângulo noted rising consumer demand for health‑focused products. The upgrade also includes a programme to welcome over 700 health‑professional specialists annually from 2027 onward.
