Nestlé invests in sustainable dairy farming in Galicia
Nestlé is implementing sustainability initiatives across its dairy supply chain in Galicia, Spain. Since 2021, the company has invested approximately 4 million euros in more than 60 of the 83 Galician farms it works with. These investments aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve animal welfare, promote biodiversity, and advance regenerative agriculture.
In collaboration with the Global Nature Foundation, approximately 55 Galician farms have implemented measures to reduce emissions. Nestlé reports that these participating farms achieved a reduction of over 41,000 tons of CO2 equivalent by the end of 2025 compared to previous levels. Additionally, since 2023, the company has paid nearly 1.5 million euros in milk price premiums to farms that have adopted measures to improve soil quality, protect water resources, and support biodiversity.
