Nestlé Japan to launch slim, quiet Nescafe Barista kotone coffee maker

Nestlé Japan has announced the launch of the ‘Nescafe Gold Blend Barista kotone’, a new coffee maker scheduled for release on October 1, 2026. The device is designed to be the slimmest in the Barista series, featuring a width of approximately 10.8 cm to better fit into modern living spaces.

Supervised by product designer Naoto Fukasawa, the machine emphasizes a ‘design that blends into daily life’ with a simple and mature aesthetic. Key technical improvements include the highest level of noise reduction in the series to date, allowing for use in quiet environments like mornings or late at night.

A notable new feature is the introduction of interchangeable ‘coffee tanks’ (sold separately), which allow users to easily switch between different types of coffee based on their mood or the occasion. The product will also integrate with a new ‘NESCAFÉ’ smartphone app developed in collaboration with teamLab, offering personalized brewing recommendations, customization, and interactive digital content.
