Nestlé launches Clean Art initiative for World Food Day

To mark World Food Day on October 16, Nestlé has launched the ‘Clean Art’ initiative and the ‘One Food, Two Endings’ campaign to address the issue of food waste. The initiative highlights how food waste in kitchens contributes to environmental issues, such as the release of greenhouse gases from landfills, and represents a loss of water, energy, and agricultural labor.

To reduce waste, consumers are encouraged to use the ‘look, smell, taste’ method before discarding items. The campaign also emphasizes understanding food labels: ‘Use by’ indicates microbiological safety and should be followed strictly, whereas ‘Best before’ refers to food quality and does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe to consume shortly after the date if stored correctly.
