Nestlé recalls infant formula batches due to toxin detection

Nestlé Polska is recalling two batches of NAN OptiPro 1 infant formula (650g) following the detection of cereulide, a toxin produced by Bacillus cereus bacteria. The recall was initiated in cooperation with the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) and major retail chains, including Biedronka.

The affected batches, which originated in the Netherlands, are: - L-53430346BA (expiry June 2027) - L-53440346BA (expiry June 2027)

The second batch was recalled as a precautionary measure after being produced immediately following the batch that tested positive during official inspections. While the National Institute of Public Health (PZH-PIB) noted that a single consumption might not cause immediate toxic effects, they warned that prolonged use could lead to serious health consequences, such as food poisoning, nausea, and vomiting.

Retailers and health authorities urge parents not to feed this product to infants and to return any affected containers to the place of purchase for a refund.
