Nestlé to double investment in Mexico to $2 billion

Nestlé has announced it will double its investment in Mexico, increasing its commitment from $1 billion to $2 billion during the current six-year presidential term. The announcement was made by President Claudia Sheinbaum following a meeting at Palacio Nacional with Nestlé Global CEO Philipp Navratil.

As part of the expanded investment, Nestlé plans to boost national production and local supply between 2028 and 2030 by installing 70,000 coffee plants. The company also intends to integrate 2,000 coffee producers from Veracruz into its supply chain. This move follows a previous $1 billion investment plan announced in January 2025 for the 2025-2027 period.

Nestlé has operated in Mexico for approximately 94 years, currently managing 18 plants and employing over 16,000 people directly. The increased capital is part of the 'Plan México' aimed at attracting foreign investment and strengthening the domestic market.
