Nestle India responds to allegations of contamination in Maggi noodles
Nestle India has issued a response following allegations from a customer in the Kalyan area of Mumbai who claimed to have discovered insects and worms in a packet of Maggi noodles during preparation. The consumer noted that the product, which had an expiry date of February 2027, was well within its shelf life at the time of the incident.
The complaint has prompted calls for the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to collect samples for laboratory testing to verify the claims.
A spokesperson for Nestle India stated that the company has not yet been contacted by the consumer or regulatory authorities and therefore cannot comment on the authenticity of the allegations. The company maintained that it follows stringent quality control measures and food safety protocols throughout its manufacturing and packaging processes to ensure compliance with safety standards.
