Netanyahu claims victory after strikes on Ali al-Tahir heights in Lebanon

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed a major victory against Hezbollah following explosions at the Ali al-Tahir heights in southern Lebanon. In a video statement, Netanyahu showcased images of the destruction, asserting that Israel has dismantled a significant terrorist stronghold and seized large quantities of weapons from tunnels allegedly funded by Iran.

Netanyahu stated that Israel’s policy remains to continue destroying terrorist infrastructure within its designated security zone in Lebanon and warned that any further attacks on Israel would be met with even more severe strikes. He characterized the operation as a step toward completing necessary military objectives in the region.

Meanwhile, there is conflicting information regarding the presence of Lebanese forces in the area. While some reports suggested potential Israeli plans to involve the Lebanese army, a Lebanese military source denied that there are current plans to deploy the Lebanese Army into the Ali al-Tahir heights or surrounding areas in the Nabatieh district, noting that patrols are being increased only within existing deployment zones.
