Netanyahu directs Israeli agencies to pursue Iranian regime overthrow

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Mossad, and other security agencies to pursue the overthrow of the Iranian government. Netanyahu stated during an IDF officer course graduation ceremony that regime change is the only way to permanently eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat.

Reports indicate that the United States and Israel are developing plans for renewed joint military strikes against Iran, potentially targeting energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and missile arsenals. These operations are expected to take place after the U.S. midterm elections on November 3, as President Donald Trump has expressed a desire to avoid destabilizing oil markets during the election campaign.

While Netanyahu strongly supports renewed military action, sources indicate the final decision regarding joint strikes rests with President Trump. The White House has stated that the U.S. will not attack Iran prior to the midterm elections, though officials noted that the administration keeps all options on the table to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Netanyahu also pledged to target Iran-backed groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah to sever the connections of what he described as the ‘head of the octopus’.
