Netanyahu seeks new alliances with India and Latin America amid U.S. policy concerns
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emphasized the need for Israel to forge new strategic alliances with nations such as India and countries in Latin America to strengthen its global position. This move comes amid concerns that a future U.S. president, regardless of gender, could adopt a hostile stance toward Israel.
Netanyahu stated that while Israel should maximize its efforts to maintain strong ties with the United States during the remaining years of Donald Trump’s presidency, the country must also prepare for potential shifts in American policy. He highlighted India as a significant partner and noted that political changes in Latin America, specifically mentioning potential shifts in Brazil, present opportunities to expand Israel’s circle of allies and increase its regional utility.
These remarks were made during a presentation of his security policy ahead of Israel's upcoming elections on October 27. The announcement followed public support from Donald Trump for Netanyahu’s bid to remain Prime Minister.
