NetApp announces new cloud storage services with Oracle and sovereign data controls
NetApp has introduced two major developments to enhance data management and compliance. First, the company launched NetApp Keystone Sovereign, designed to help European clients meet strict regulatory and data residency requirements. This service provides enhanced controls over regional scope, support, access, and data processing to ensure sensitive information remains within defined geographic boundaries.
Additionally, NetApp and Oracle have partnered to launch the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) NetApp Storage Service. This fully managed service integrates NetApp ONTAP data management capabilities directly into OCI as a native service. It is intended to simplify the migration and management of mission-critical AI and enterprise workloads, including databases and highly regulated applications, while maintaining consistent data protection and governance across on-premises and cloud environments. The OCI service is expected to be generally available within the next 12 months.
