NetApp validates ONTAP support for VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1

NetApp has announced that its ONTAP data management solutions have been tested and validated to support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1. This integration is designed to provide a secure and optimized data infrastructure for businesses managing private and hybrid cloud environments.

The support allows enterprises to utilize VCF 9.1 innovations, including support for traditional applications as well as modern AI and Kubernetes-based workloads, without requiring major changes to existing data setups. NetApp’s solutions include tools for data protection, such as NetApp Console Backup and Recovery, which aim to safeguard data against ransomware through rapid recovery capabilities.

Additionally, the validation includes support for VMware vSphere Kubernetes Service (VKS), enabling companies to run container-based applications alongside traditional virtual machines on the same infrastructure. NetApp also noted that its first-party cloud storage services are certified to support VCF environments across major hyperscale clouds, facilitating workload portability through VCF license portability.
