Netball Association of Malawi advances talent program and World Cup preparations

The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) has concluded a national talent selection program in Lilongwe. Following a nationwide scouting exercise that identified 316 players, 100 participants attended an intensive eight-day assessment camp. Through technical, physical, and psychological evaluations, 40 players were selected for the NAM High-Performance Development Programme to enhance the competitiveness of Malawi’s national teams.

Simultaneously, the Malawi national netball team, known as the Queens, is preparing for the African Netball Cup in Kenya, scheduled for September 19–26. The tournament serves as a critical pathway for World Cup qualification, as a strong performance could secure Malawi a spot in the 2027 Netball World Cup in Australia. The team is expected to begin official preparations on September 8 and will play international practice matches before the competition begins.
