Netball Australia clinches better pay and conditions for Super Netball players
Netball Australia, the Super Netball clubs and the Australian Netball Players' Association have signed a 12‑month bridging agreement to an updated collective player agreement (CPA) for the 2027 season. The deal raises the total player payment pool above inflation, provides a one‑off payment when a commercial partner is secured, adds two weeks of extra time off per year, allows multi‑year contracts and gives athletes greater freedom to sign individual sponsorships, alongside higher health‑insurance and meal allowances.
The agreement clears the contract limbo that halted league expansion plans and enables clubs to begin contracting players ahead of the new free‑to‑air broadcast deal with the Nine Network that starts in 2027. Netball Australia interim CEO Mark Falvo said the arrangement balances immediate player benefits with the sport’s long‑term commercial growth. Discussions will continue on revenue‑share, pregnancy and parental‑leave policies and a longer‑term CPA beyond 2028.
