NetEase Cloud Music and Unitree Robotics partner on AI music features

NetEase Cloud Music and Unitree Robotics have announced a deep partnership to introduce a first-of-its-kind natural language music request feature for robots. This integration allows users to control music playback through verbal commands, such as asking for a specific song title or requesting a certain mood, such as ‘play some happy music.’

The technology utilizes Unitree’s AI large model voice companion, ‘Benben,’ to interface with NetEase Cloud Music’s official song library. The feature is currently compatible with several Unitree models, including the Go2 quadruped robot and the G1 and R1 general-purpose humanoid robots.

Beyond simple playback, the robots are capable of performing dance movements synchronized to the rhythm of the music. The companies intend to deploy this technology in scenarios involving children’s companionship and home entertainment, aiming to expand the application of music services within embodied intelligence terminals.
