ANANTA RPG to launch worldwide on January 15, 2027

NetEase Games and developer Naked Rain have announced that the urban open-world RPG ANANTA (formerly Project Mugen) will launch worldwide on January 15, 2027. The free-to-play title will be available on PC (via Steam and a dedicated client), PlayStation 5, and mobile platforms including iOS and Android.

ANANTA features an anime-inspired aesthetic set in modern metropolitan environments inspired by cities like Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Tokyo. A new trailer unveiled Chongxiao, the game’s second major city. The gameplay centers on the concept of social influence, where players take on roles such as influencers, hackers, or delivery riders to build reputation and navigate a world governed by online culture.

Key features include high-mobility exploration via cars, motorcycles, helicopters, and even hang gliders, alongside a martial arts-based combat system that allows players to use environmental objects as improvised weapons. The game has already surpassed 17 million pre-registrations across 110 countries and regions.
