NetEase Games reverses Marvel Rivals mod suspensions
NetEase Games has announced that Marvel Rivals will reverse recent account suspensions related to specific types of game modifications, offering affected players a second chance to remove the files. However, the developer emphasized that this reversal does not authorize the continued use of mods that impact competitive balance.
The anti-cheat system identified modifications using memory injection and modification techniques similar to traditional cheat engines. Prohibited mods include structural model or texture changes that create unfair lines of sight, alterations to weapon recoil, screen shake, or shot trajectories, and modifications to sound effects that reveal enemy positions more clearly. Other banned changes include increasing enemy character models to make them easier to target.
In addition to the mod policy, the developers are implementing tougher penalties for abusive text and voice chat. Players are instructed to delete specific files, such as pystubber.asi and MarvelRivalsUnmountBlocker.asi, to avoid future sanctions.
