Netflix acquires ‘AWOL’ dramedy series from GoldDay Productions

Netflix has won a competitive bidding war to develop ‘AWOL’, a new hour-long dramedy series. The project is being produced by GoldDay Productions, the banner of filmmaking duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

The series is written by Craig Rowin, whose previous credits include Apple TV+’s ‘The Big Door Prize’ and ‘The Off Weeks’. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the series is currently in development at Netflix.

Daley and Goldstein, known for ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ and ‘Game Night’, will serve as executive producers. The duo is also currently developing a new ‘Star Trek’ film for Paramount.
