Netflix adds new series while Canal+ rolls out top‑20 French originals
Netflix launched several new series and documentaries this week. Available from 8 July, the platform introduced the fifth season of the Apple TV comedy *Trying*, a Mexican drama set during the 1986 World Cup titled *I’m Not Afraid*, a four‑part Louis Theroux documentary on Katie Price, and a reboot of *Little House on the Prairie* slated for 9 July. In France, Canal+ published a ranking of its twenty best original series. Highlights include the Liverpool‑gang drama *La ville nous appartient* starring Sean Bean, the 1940s‑era literary mystery *Bookish* created by Mark Gatiss, and an adaptation of William Golding’s novel *Sa Majesté des Mouches*.
