Netflix and AMC sign $500 million deal for The Walking Dead
AMC Global Media and Netflix have signed a five-year global licensing agreement valued at $500 million. Starting in 2027, the entire ‘The Walking Dead’ universe will be available on both Netflix and AMC+.
The deal covers the original series and its six spin-offs, totaling 371 episodes. These include ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, ‘Daryl Dixon’, ‘Dead City’, ‘The Ones Who Live’, ‘World Beyond’, and ‘Tales of The Walking Dead’.
While Netflix has held exclusive streaming rights for the original series in the United States since 2011, this new pact expands availability to international markets such as the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand. The rollout of specific series will vary by territory as existing distribution agreements expire.
