Netflix and Disney+ expand Catalan-language catalogs
Streaming platforms Netflix and Disney+ are expanding their Catalan-language catalogs through an agreement between the Department of Language Policy and the public broadcaster 3Cat.
Netflix is adding 13 new Catalan dubs sourced from 3Cat and Warner, featuring titles such as ‘Sully’, ‘The Legend of Tarzan’, and ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’.
Disney+ will incorporate 35 Catalan-dubbed titles, including ‘Mary Poppins’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’. This initiative aims to increase the presence of the Catalan language in digital audiovisual services, complementing existing support for subtitling and dubbing efforts in the region.
