Netflix and IICT launch scholarships for Indian creative talent

The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) and Netflix have launched a scholarship program aimed at developing India’s creative talent. Under the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, 100 scholarships will be awarded to students and professionals for in-person programs.

The financial support covers between 50 percent and 80 percent of program fees across six specialized disciplines. These include diplomas in Interactive Comics & Sequential Arts and Visual Effects Mastery, as well as certificates in Virtual Art Department Content Creation, Media Tech Workflow, Art of Character Animation, and E-Sports & Gaming Management.

The initiative focuses on the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) ecosystem. This collaboration follows a meeting between Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Netflix has also assisted in shaping the curriculum for certain programs to ensure alignment with contemporary industry workflows.
