Netflix to develop live-action PUBG series with Donald Glover

Netflix is developing a live-action series based on the popular battle royale video game PUBG: Battlegrounds. The project is being led by Donald Glover, who is set to serve as the lead actor, director, writer, and executive producer.

Stephen Glover will collaborate on writing and production. The executive production team includes Michael Schaefer of Neon TV, Fam Udeorji of Gilga, and Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee from KRAFTON’s production division, LV3H.

While specific plot details, cast members, and a release date have not yet been announced, the series aims to adapt the survival mechanics of the game into a scripted narrative. The announcement comes as South Korean publisher KRAFTON continues to expand the PUBG brand into transmedia entertainment.
