Netflix and Rakuten Viki announce August 2026 Asian drama releases

Streaming platforms Netflix and Rakuten Viki have announced a variety of new Asian content releases for August 2026.

On Netflix, notable South Korean titles include the romantic comedy ‘Um Grude de Amor’, featuring Jung Hae-in, and the thriller ‘A Bona Fide Killer’, which follows a former elite sniper balancing motherhood with vigilante justice.

Rakuten Viki is expanding its catalog with productions from several countries. South Korean highlights include ‘My Bias, My Boss’ and ‘Love on the Menu’. The platform is also releasing Thai productions such as ‘Whisper of Desire’ and ‘Match Point’, Japanese titles like ‘Serizawa Acts Weird Around Me’, and Filipino series including ‘Hell University’. Additionally, the Chinese animation ‘False Memory’ is expected to arrive soon.
