Tech sector sees major shifts as Microsoft hits $500 and AMD reaches $1 trillion

The technology and semiconductor sectors are seeing significant market activity. Microsoft stock has surpassed the $500 mark, with analysts from JP Morgan and RBC Capital projecting further growth driven by M365 Copilot revenue. In the semiconductor space, AMD has reached a $1 trillion market capitalization, fueled by its $8.2 billion acquisition of World Labs and rising demand for AI-capable hardware. Analysts remain divided on AMD, with some predicting a rise to $700 while others warn of stretched valuations.

Competition between AMD and Intel remains intense in the data center market. While Intel maintains a majority share in server CPUs, AMD is gaining ground and seeing rapid growth in its data center revenue. Meanwhile, Micron Technology is preparing to report earnings, with market expectations focused on high-bandwidth memory (HBM) demand for AI applications.

Other notable corporate movements include Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg selling approximately $21.36 million in shares through a pre-established 10b5-1 trading plan. In the pharmaceutical sector, AbbVie continues to see growth through its immunology drugs Skyrizi and Rinvoq, offsetting the loss of patent exclusivity for Humira. Additionally, Kontron AG has received a €126 million payment, strengthening its position for future strategic acquisitions.
