Netflix and streaming platforms highlight new series and film releases

Netflix is set to release several new series this September. Notable upcoming titles include the second season of Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentlemen’, which follows Eddie Horniman as he navigates the British criminal underworld. Additionally, a six-part adaptation of Bolesław Prus’s classic novel ‘The Doll’ is scheduled for release, focusing on the complex romance between Stanisław Wokulski and Izabela Łęcka. The anthology series ‘Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story’ will also debut its fourth season.

In the realm of film, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dunkirk’ has seen a resurgence in popularity on digital rental platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV. The film, which depicts the 1940 evacuation of Allied soldiers from France, was previously cited by Quentin Tarantino as the best World War II production of the 21st century. This renewed interest coincides with upcoming cinematic projects, including a David Fincher production set in the ‘Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood’ universe, slated for global release on Netflix in December.
