Netflix Announces 2026 Release Date for Brad Bird’s Animated Film ‘Ray Gunn’

Netflix has confirmed that Brad Bird’s original animated feature Ray Gunn will debut on its platform on 18 December 2026. The date was revealed during the “Next on Netflix” presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.

Directed by the creator of The Incredibles and Ratatouille, the film follows private detective Raymond Gunn (voiced by Sam Rockwell) in a futuristic megacity called Metropia where humans and aliens coexist. The voice cast also includes Scarlett Johansson as Venus Nova and Tom Waits. Bird has spoken about wanting to make the project for three decades, marking his first original animated film for Netflix since The Incredibles 2.
