Netflix announces animated film Hermanastras for November release

Netflix has announced the release of its new original animated film, Hermanastras, scheduled to premiere on November 20. The film offers a reimagining of the classic Cinderella tale, focusing on the stepsisters Lilith and Margot.

In this version, Lilith steals the fairy godmother's magic wand to sabotage the royal ball, an act that inadvertently allows a villain named Priscilla to seize the throne and establish a tyranny. To save the kingdom and repair their relationship, Lilith must eventually team up with Cinderella to face various threats, including wheeled trolls and a sinister forest.

The film is directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, with production by Amy Poehler, Jane Hartwell, and Kim Lessing for Paper Kite Productions. The English voice cast features Ali Wong, Amanda Seyfried, Stephanie Hsu, Nikki Glaser, Daniel Radcliffe, Young Mazino, Peter Dinklage, Bette Midler, and Damian Priest. The original score is composed by Kris Bowers.
