Netflix has officially announced a new science fiction spin-off set in the universe of the series ‘Manifest’, titled ‘Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery’. The announcement was timed for August 28, a date significant to fans as ‘8/28 Day’, referencing the central mystery of Flight 828 from the original series.

The new series will feature a new cast and storyline centered on a mysterious plane crash-landing in Denver. The plot follows passengers who emerge from the wreckage with no memory of their identities or origins. A young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent will team up with the survivors to investigate the incident and prevent a potential global catastrophe.

Jeff Rake, the creator and showrunner of the original series, returns to lead the project alongside co-creators and showrunners Margaret Easley and Laura Putney. The production is being handled by Warner Bros. Television. While the series is designed to be accessible to new viewers, it aims to reward long-time fans of the original franchise. No official release date or cast members have been confirmed yet.
