Netflix announces Bridgerton spin-off centered on Lady Violet

Netflix and Shondaland have announced a new limited series spin-off within the Bridgerton franchise. The prequel will focus on the early life of Lady Violet Bridgerton and her romance with Viscount Edmund Bridgerton, the father of her eight children.

Following the model of the previous prequel, ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’, this production aims to explore the origins of the family matriarch and the relationship that shaped her perspective on love and marriage. The series will provide context for the history of the Bridgerton family before the events of the main series.

Shonda Rhimes and Nicholas Nardini are set to serve as showrunners and executive producers, with Tom Verica directing and also acting as an executive producer. Betsy Beers will also participate as an executive producer. As of now, Netflix has not released a definitive title, casting details, or a premiere date.
